Buying & prices
Where to buy, what it costs, and how to get a figure for your order.
Where can I buy shipping containers in Saudi Arabia?
From ACE Trading, direct. We are a shipping container trading and supply company based in Dammam, Eastern Province, and we sell new (one-trip) and used containers and deliver them across Saudi Arabia — including Riyadh, Jeddah, Mecca, Medina, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail and Yanbu. Send your requirement to +966 58 126 2866 or the quote form for same-day availability and pricing.
How much does a 20ft shipping container cost in Saudi Arabia?
A used (Cargo Worthy) 20FT container starts from about SAR 6,900, and a new one-trip 20FT from about SAR 12,800. A converted 20FT site office with insulation, air conditioning and electrics starts from about SAR 32,500. All figures are before 15% VAT and delivery, and move with grade, quantity and your city — send your details for today's exact quote.
How much does a 40ft container cost?
A used 40FT high cube starts from about SAR 9,800 and a new one-trip 40FT high cube from about SAR 18,900. A 40FT open top runs from about SAR 14,800. Prices are indicative starting points before 15% VAT and delivery; the final figure depends on grade, quantity and delivery city, so request a quote for the current number.
How much is a refrigerated (reefer) container?
A used, PTI-tested 20FT reefer starts from about SAR 24,500, before 15% VAT and delivery. Reefers are priced well above dry containers because of the refrigeration machinery, so pricing is always confirmed on quotation against the exact unit and its temperature range.
Why don't you publish a full price list?
Container prices move with the global container market, the grade, the quantity and the delivery city, so a fixed public price list would be out of date within weeks. Instead we confirm live availability and send a written quote — usually the same working day — so the figure you get is the real one for your order, not a stale headline.
Can I buy a single container, or only in bulk?
Both. We supply single units for site storage and homeowners, and bulk orders for projects, contractors and traders. We will always tell you where the volume pricing breaks improve, so you know whether ordering a few more units lowers your unit cost.
How quickly can I get a container quote?
Usually the same working day. Send the container type, size, grade, quantity and delivery city through the quote form or WhatsApp on +966 58 126 2866, and we confirm availability before quoting. Messages sent outside hours (Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM AST) are answered the next working day.
Sizes & types
The dimensions, capacity and the right box for the job.
What container sizes and types do you supply?
20FT and 40FT standard, 40FT high cube, refrigerated reefers (20FT and 40FT), open top, flat rack, and modified units such as site offices, storage units and workshops. Full external and internal dimensions, payload and capacity for each are on our container types page.
What is the internal size and capacity of a 20ft vs a 40ft container?
A 20FT holds about 33 m³ (CBM) with an internal floor of roughly 5.9 × 2.35 m and 2.39 m of height; a 40FT standard holds about 67 m³ over roughly 12.03 × 2.35 m; and a 40FT high cube holds about 76 m³ with 2.69 m of internal height. A 20FT carries a payload of around 28 tonnes.
What container size do I need?
As a rule, a 20FT suits tight yards, single-room storage and heavy, dense loads; a 40FT or 40FT high cube is the cheaper choice per cubic metre for bulky, lighter goods. If you are unsure, our container size calculator estimates how many 20FT, 40FT or high cube units a load needs, and we will sanity-check it against your cargo.
What is a high cube container?
A high cube is one foot (about 30 cm) taller than a standard container — 2.89 m external height instead of 2.59 m, giving roughly 2.69 m of internal height. The 40FT high cube is the usual shell for site offices, accommodation and conversions because occupants still stand comfortably once a floor and ceiling are fitted.
Do you sell refrigerated (reefer) containers in Saudi Arabia?
Yes. Our reefer containers hold −25 °C to +25 °C, come in 20FT and 40FT, and are PTI-tested before handover. They work both as live cold-chain units on three-phase power or a genset, and as static cold rooms on site where building a chiller is not practical.
Can a shipping container be converted into a site office or storage unit?
Yes. We supply modified containers as site offices, storage units, workshops and accommodation units, with doors, windows, insulation, electrics and air conditioning fitted, and we can also modify a standard unit to a contractor's or industrial site's spec.
Grades & condition
New, used, CW, WWT — what the grades mean and which to buy.
What is the difference between a new and a used shipping container?
A new (one-trip) container has carried a single cargo load from the factory region and is in near-new cosmetic and structural condition, with the longest service life ahead of it. A used container has worked at sea for years and is sold by grade — Cargo Worthy or Wind & Watertight — at a lower price. For a container that will simply sit on the ground, a good used unit is usually the better value.
What is the difference between Cargo Worthy (CW) and Wind & Watertight (WWT)?
Cargo Worthy (CW) is a used container inspected and certified structurally fit to carry cargo by sea, normally with a valid CSC plate — choose it only if the container will be shipped again. Wind & Watertight (WWT) keeps out wind and water with a sound roof, walls and door seals but is not certified for shipping lines. WWT is usually the best value for ground storage.
What does 'one-trip' mean?
A one-trip container is a recently manufactured unit that has made a single voyage, typically to carry cargo out of the factory region. It is sold as 'new' because it is in near-new condition with minimal wear, at a lower price than a container that has never shipped at all.
Which grade should I buy for ground storage?
For a container that will stay put on the ground — site storage, a store room, a workshop shell — Wind & Watertight (WWT) is normally the best value: it is sealed against the weather without paying for shipping certification you won't use. Step up to Cargo Worthy or one-trip only if you need to ship the unit later or want the best cosmetic condition.
Are your used containers inspected before sale?
Yes. Every used unit is inspected and graded to trade standard before it is offered, and the condition is stated honestly in the quote. You get the grade you pay for, with no surprises on arrival.
Delivery
Getting the container to your site, across the Kingdom and the GCC.
Do you deliver containers to Riyadh, Jeddah and other Saudi cities?
Yes. We deliver from our Dammam base across the Kingdom — Dammam, Khobar, Dhahran, Jubail, Qatif, Al Ahsa, Riyadh, Buraidah, Jeddah, Mecca, Taif, Medina, Yanbu, Abha, Tabuk and Jazan — and into the wider GCC. Delivery is quoted separately by distance and site access.
How is a container delivered and placed on site?
Most containers arrive on a tilt-bed (roll-off) truck that slides the unit onto the ground, which needs a long, straight, firm approach in front of the placement spot. Where there is no room for that, a side-loader lifts the container off its own trailer and sets it down beside the truck. We confirm the right method for your site when we quote delivery.
How much does delivery cost?
Delivery is quoted separately from the container, by distance from Dammam, the delivery city and how accessible the placement spot is. Tell us the delivery address and the type of site when you request a quote and we include delivery in the figure.
Do you deliver outside Saudi Arabia, to the GCC?
Yes — into Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE and Oman, as well as across the Kingdom. Cross-border delivery is quoted separately by destination.
How do I prepare my site for a container delivery?
Provide firm, level ground, a straight approach for the truck and clear overhead space (watch for cables and branches). Setting the container on railway sleepers or concrete blocks at the corner castings keeps the floor off the ground and the doors square. Our delivery guide covers site preparation in full.
Payment & documents
How you pay, VAT, and the paperwork you receive.
How do I pay, and what documents do I get?
Payment is by bank transfer against a formal quotation and invoice. You receive a VAT tax invoice and — for containers, where applicable — a release note, CSC plate details and interchange documentation. Government and corporate clients are supplied against purchase orders and contracts.
Do your prices include VAT?
No. Indicative 'from' prices are quoted before Saudi VAT, currently 15%, and before delivery. Your written quote states the container price, delivery and VAT clearly, so the total you approve is the total you pay.
Do you work with government and corporate clients?
Yes. We supply government and semi-government entities, construction and contracting companies, industrial and manufacturing facilities, hotels, hospitals and healthcare, and corporate offices — on purchase orders and supply contracts, with the documentation handled properly.
Can I buy containers and industrial supplies from the same company?
Yes. Many clients buy containers for site storage and source hardware, safety & PPE, electrical, steel, tools, welding, paints, plumbing and consumables through our industrial & general trading division — one contact, one set of terms.
