FAQ
Cold Storage containers — FAQ
- Can a reefer container be used as static cold storage?
- Yes — this is one of the most common uses. A reefer runs just as well standing still as it does in transit, so it works as a fixed cold room or freezer on a restaurant, pharmacy, catering or farm site where building a chiller is not practical.
- What temperature range does a reefer hold?
- From −25 °C to +25 °C, set to any point in between. That covers frozen storage, chilled produce and pharmaceuticals at +2 °C to +8 °C, and air-conditioned storage for heat-sensitive goods.
- What power does a cold storage container need?
- A reefer runs on a three-phase power supply. Where there is no suitable supply — a remote site, or during transport — a diesel genset powers it instead, and we can quote the genset with the unit.
- Are your reefer containers tested before delivery?
- Yes. Every reefer is PTI-tested (pre-trip inspection) before handover, so the refrigeration machinery is confirmed to hold the set temperature before it reaches your site.
